This is a wardrobe located at the Marion Wade Center beside Wheaton College. It was hand-crafted by C.S. Lewis' grandfather - even the hinges were handmade. It was at least one of the inspirations for Lewis to write "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". Hopefully, I'll be able to make a reproduction of this wardrobe for Heather's graduation from Wheaton in 2010 (Wheaton's 150 anniversary).

It's oak - red or white ??? Very hard wood to carve. Haven't got a chance to measure it out yet. LOTS of hand carving!! I'll probably build it out of mahogany -- easier to carve and still beautiful!! Sharpen your carving tools when you come home!!
